In this exercise we’re going to be diving into the selection tools that are available with procreate right now I’m in my Superman sketch and with procreate selection tools you can select a certain part of your image and you can transform it to your liking if I wanted to I I’ve got my layers situated right here and I know that this layer 2 is my sketch layer and I only want to be able to see that sketch layer I can see that by pressing down on that little check box off to the right hand side right next to the end if I hold down that check box it’ll turn off all the other layers if I want to bring everything back I just hold down that check box once again and it brings everything back but I’ll turn everything off so I can just see my sketch next what I’ll do is I’ll click this little S button that’s on the upper left hand corner you can see it just turns blue and then I’m just going to freehand right now it’s on the freehand option I’m going to freehand essentially my Superman head no maybe I don’t like that two finger tap to undo I’m gonna do it again
I just press down I just circle his head and then that’s it next there’s a little arrow icon next to the S icon on the upper left hand corner when I hit that then I get my transform tools and now I can click and drag one of the corners of the box boxes then I can make the Superman head bigger or smaller if I want to be able to move say Superman’s tiny head I can pinch and zoom in to a particular area and then press down in the within the middle of that bounding box and then I can move that head over what if if I zoom out a little bit here what if I liked kind of like the original positioning I’ll go ahead and click and drag this once again and then I’ve got some rotate tools down at the bottom you’ll see a yellow like a yellow dot that I can hold that down and I can rotate my bounding box if need be I want a two finger tap to undo that if I want to rotate the actual image the actual sketch there’s a green a Green Dot up at the top and I click and hold that down and that rotates
that part of the sketch so thick this can be very very convenient if you’re ever in a situation to where you’re sketching everything out I ran into this when I was creating this Superman sketch I looked at it and I thought to myself you know what I made Superman’s head entirely too big for his body so what I did was rather than redraw the sketch all over again I just created a selection around his head and then resized it to my liking just to kind of get the proportions right so it’s very very nice within procreate to be able to do these kinds of things and then once you’re good with how it looks then press the the arrow once again and then you can kind of sketch
with one of your brushes and kind of tie everything back in to the original sketch so these are just some of the great options of being able to use the selection tools to your advantage to be able to transform your image to your liking
